'MAHAMANA' PANDIT MADAN MOHAN MALAVIYA

An inspirational freedom fighter, an eminent educationalist, a renowned journalist, an ace lawyer and a well reputed social worker - Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya was one of the greatest Indians to have been born in British India. From relatively humble beginnings, he rose to became a judge in the High Court only to give up the legal profession so as to actively participate in the freedom struggle and to devote himself to the welfare of the needy. The founder of the prestigious Benares Hindu University (BHU), he was conferred the title of 'Mahamana' by Gandhiji. Now, with the NDA government bestowing the Bharat Ratna on him this year along with former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a day before their birthdays on 25th December, here is a short quiz on the life of this great son of India.
